The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA) was originally formed in 2004 as an alternative to the imperialist imposed trade agreement: the Free Trade Area of America (FTAA). Today, ALBA has nine member countries. The fundamental goal of ALBA is and has been the collaboration and cooperation of Latin American countries for the fair distribution of wealth, as well as social and economic integration between its members.
Join Fire This Time to discuss why ALBA was an important move and a necessity for Latin America. What have been its successes and challenges? What role is ALBA playing in Latin America and in the world against imperialist economical domination?

La Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América (ALBA) fue originalmente formada en 2004 como alternativa ante al acuerdo de libre comercio impuesto por el imperialismo: el Área de Libre Comercio de las Américas (ALCA).
Hoy, el ALBA tiene nueve estados miembros. El objetivo principal del ALBA es y ha sido la colaboración y cooperación de los países latinoamericanos por la distribución justa de las riquezas, así como la integración social y económica entre sus miembros.
