of Fire This Time Newspaper


This issue includes articles on the crisis of war and occupation in Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia. Featured in both Spanish and English are articles on the recent repression in Suchitoto El Salvador, Fidel Castro's Reflections and an article on imperialist exploitation of water resources, by our contributor from Cuba, Manuel Yepe. Also included are two articles on Indigenous struggles in Canada - one on a recent RCMP attack against a BC native community and one on the selling off of water resources. Also on the home front, this issue includes an article on the crisis in the US health care system, a reality exposed most recently by the documentary SiCKO. Articles on Cuba include a look back to the July 26th movement, the upcoming elections in Cuba, an interview with Ramon Labanino (one of the Cuban 5) and a special remembrance of Cuban revolutionary Vilma Espin. This issue includes articles on recent developments in war and occupation in Afghanistan and Iraq. As well updates and analysis on recent developments in Gaza, Palestine and Sudan. Articles calling for the self-determination of Indigenous nations and outlining the horrific impacts of Canadian colonialism on Indigenous nations in Canada are also featured. Important articles from Cuba, in Spanish and English are also included - a reflection by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and a recent article written by Fire This Time contributer Manuel Yepe. Also reflecting the struggles in Latin America is an interview (in Spanish and English) with Venezuelan revolutionary William Izarra. From a local perspective, this issue also includes articles on the fight for social housing and against violence against women.
