      ¡Viva Palestina! Longlive Palestine!
Venezuela Lauds Ahed Tamimi Who Notes Maduro, Chavez Support

Tamimi expressed gratitude to the government, and specifically President Nicolas Maduro, for unwavering support for Palestine.

The Venezuelan ambassador to Palestine, Maher Taha, presented teen freedom fighter Ahed Tamimi with a communique issued by the Bolivarian government

The envoy met with the formerly incarcerated 17-year-old activist and her parents at their home in Nabi Saleh village. The edict from the Venezuelan Government, in addition to celebrating the teen’s release, highlights the significance of Tamimi’s fearless commitment to fighting for the freedom of the Palestinian people. Taha noted the longstanding friendship and brotherhood which unite Palestine and Venezuela.

Tamimi, in turn, expressed gratitude to the government, and specifically President Nicolas Maduro, for unwavering support for Palestine as well as underscoring late Venezuelan president Comandante Hugo Chavez challenging injustice and working towards the freedom of oppressed peoples.

Tamimi was in Israeli custody for eight months after being arrested along with her mother on December 19, 2017. The teen – along with her cousin Nour Tamimi – was filmed slapping and kicking two Israeli soldiers who had invaded the Tamimi home, near Ramallah. One of the soldiers had earlier shot a 14-year-old relative in the face with a rubber bullet.
